1. Who these terms are with

Item
Detail
Legal entity
Northline Transportation, Inc. d/b/a Northline Black Car
"You"
The person making the booking, and where different, the passenger traveling
Contact for notices

2. Formation of the contract

A booking request — online, by phone or by text — is an offer. The contract is formed when we issue a written confirmation, which we aim to do immediately. A quote is not a confirmation and does not reserve a vehicle. Confirmations are issued subject to vehicle and chauffeur availability, and to the notice periods on the booking page.

3. What we provide

Provision
Terms
Service
Pre-arranged chauffeured passenger transport. Not a street hail, not an on-demand service.
Vehicle class
We supply the class booked. A specific make, model, color or vehicle is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
Chauffeur
A currently TLC-licensed chauffeur where the trip requires one. Substitution of chauffeur or vehicle is at our discretion.
Subcontracting
We may perform a trip through an affiliate operator meeting the standards on drive with us. Where we do, Northline takes the booking, sets the price and is your point of contact. Trips are performed by TLC-licensed operators, which own the vehicles and employ or engage the chauffeurs. You contract with Northline; we arrange the trip..
Route
Chosen by the chauffeur, on traffic conditions, unless you direct otherwise. A directed route is at your risk as to time.
Timing
Journey times are estimates. We do not warrant arrival by a particular time and cannot — see section 9.

4. Price and payment

Item
Terms
Quote basis
A flat rate for airport transportation and set destinations, or an hourly rate when the car is at your disposal
Dynamic pricing
Surge pricing is when a ride's price jumps with demand — during rush hour or bad weather — after you've already committed to the trip. We never charge surge prices: not in rush hour, not in a snowstorm, not on New Year's Eve or during UN General Assembly week. The price you're quoted is the price you pay, with no fuel surcharge added either, and no gratuity added automatically.
Payment methods
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, or cash
When charged
The card is charged at the end of the trip, once the final amount is known
Card held at booking
No hold is placed on the card at booking
Tolls
Are not included in the fare and are itemized in your quote
Congestion charges
Absorbed by us, not added to your fare
Parking
Charged at cost where incurred on your trip, including on a meet and greet.
Sales tax
No sales tax added — the quoted price is what you pay
Black Car Fund surcharge
Statutory. Collected and remitted; shown as Not applicable. We add no booking, card-processing or service fee, and any charge that is not the fare — tolls, parking on a meet and greet, waiting past the free allowance — is itemized in your quote before you book.
Gratuity
Is not included and is entirely at your discretion · on the invoice: a gratuity line appears on the invoice and on the payment screen, and can be set to zero
Late payment
Account invoices are due 14 days from the invoice date. Unpaid balances after that may carry interest at 1.5% a month, and further bookings may be held until the account is clear.
Disputed charges
Raise any billing question within 30 days of the trip and we will investigate and reply within 5 business days. Send it to info@northlineblackcar.com.

5. Changes, cancellation and no-show

Set out in full in the cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: free cancellation until 4 hours before pickup on a sedan or SUV; a longer window on the Sprinter van; no-show declared 1 hour after the flight arrives on an airport arrival and 30 minutes after the booked pickup time elsewhere.

6. Waiting time

Set out in full in the wait time and flight delay policy, which forms part of these terms. Free wait 30 minutes domestic and 1 hour international, measured from the flight's arrival at the gate, or from the booked pickup time if the flight cannot be tracked; thereafter at the hourly rate for your vehicle class billed in one-minute increments, for the exact minutes waited, with no rounding.

7. Passenger obligations and conduct

Illegal items
Not to be carried. The chauffeur will end the trip.
Damage and soiling

8. Luggage and property

Term
Detail
Capacity
As stated per class on the fleet pages. We can refuse luggage that does not fit safely.
Loading
Assistance is offered. Property remains in your custody and control throughout.
Liability for property
Luggage travels at the passenger's risk and is not checked in. Where loss or damage is caused by our failure to take reasonable care, we will pay the reasonable value of the item, up to $250 for any single piece and its contents. Tell us within 7 days.
Items left in a vehicle
Held for a few days. Return arranged at returned by a chauffeur to an address of your choosing, charged as a trip.

9. Liability

Term
Position
What we are liable for
Our own negligence, and matters that cannot lawfully be excluded — including death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Delay
If a vehicle arrives late through our fault, tell dispatch and we will agree a reduction or a refund of the fare for that trip. We do not pay consequential loss.. Journey times are estimates and traffic, weather, road closures and airport operations are outside our control.
Consequential loss
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — a missed flight, a missed meeting, a lost deposit or lost earnings — arising from a delay or a service failure. — e.g. a missed flight, a missed meeting, a lost booking
Cap on liability
Where we are liable, our total liability for any booking is limited to the fare for that booking.
Insurance
Commercial automobile liability, carrier Each trip is performed by a TLC-licensed operator that owns the vehicle and insures it. Northline does not own or insure vehicles., limits The vehicle performing your trip carries commercial auto liability cover of at least $1 million per occurrence, held by the licensed operator that owns it. — see safety & licensing
Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or non-performance caused by events outside our reasonable control: weather, road or bridge closures, accidents and incident traffic, civil disturbance, industrial action, government or airport action, or vehicle breakdown. Where a trip cannot be performed for such a reason, you are not charged.

A limitation of liability and an exclusion of consequential loss are the provisions most likely to be found unenforceable if drafted badly, and the ones a corporate customer’s legal team will negotiate hardest. Neither should be finalized from a template.

10. Website terms

Term
Detail
Content
Reference guides on this site are general information about public facts, not advice. They are corrected in place when facts change.
Accuracy
Third-party facts — terminal assignments, transit fares, tolls — change without notice. Check anything time-critical with the operator concerned.
Third-party booking widget
Checkout is hosted by Limo Anywhere on a separate domain. Their terms and privacy practices apply to that step — see book.
Intellectual property
Site content is owned by Northline Transportation, Inc. Facts about the world are not.
Acceptable use
No scraping for republication, no automated booking submission, no attempt to circumvent security.
Accessibility
See the accessibility statement, including known gaps.

11. Communications

Booking confirmations, chauffeur details and arrival notifications are sent by SMS and email to the numbers and addresses on the booking. Consent, opt-out and message handling are covered in the privacy policy: We text you about your own booking — confirmation, chauffeur details and arrival. Reply STOP to stop those messages, or HELP for help; STOP also stops the arrival texts. We send no marketing texts, and your carrier's message rates may apply.. Marketing messages, if any, are separate and require separate consent.

12. Complaints

Raise it with us first: info@northlineblackcar.com, answered as quickly as the matter allows. Independently of us, complaints about a licensed vehicle or chauffeur may be made to the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission through 311. Nothing in these terms restricts that right, and nothing in them requires you to accept a refund in exchange for withdrawing a complaint or a review.

13. Governing law and disputes

Item
Position
Governing law
The laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules
Jurisdiction
The state and federal courts sitting in Nassau County, New York
Dispute resolution
Any dispute not resolved within 30 days of being raised in writing may be brought in the courts named above.
Class action position
We do not ask you to waive any right to bring or join a class action.
Small claims
Nothing in these terms prevents either of us bringing a claim in small claims court.

14. Changes to these terms

The terms that apply to your trip are those in force when your booking is confirmed. We will not apply a change retrospectively to a confirmed booking.

Common questions

Can a corporate customer negotiate these?

Yes — corporate accounts normally run on a separate agreement that varies several of these provisions, particularly cancellation, liability and payment terms.

What happens if I miss a flight because the car was late?

Section 9. If a vehicle arrives late through our fault, tell dispatch and we will agree a reduction or a refund of the fare for that trip. We do not pay consequential loss. On consequential loss: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — a missed flight, a missed meeting, a lost deposit or lost earnings — arising from a delay or a service failure. Both are among the provisions most likely to change on legal review.

Do these terms cover the booking checkout?

Not entirely. Checkout is hosted by a third party on their own domain under their terms — a known issue flagged on the booking page. Which terms govern which step is exactly the sort of thing that needs sorting before publication.
